Sacramental Preparation:

Sacraments are an important part of our personal lives and the life of the Church community.  They celebrate who we are and who we hope to be.   They are special moments when God touches us deeply as we live out our baptismal vocation.

Baptism

Baptism is the sacrament in which we are united with Christ in his death and resurrection.  We are called to live a new life.  We are anointed, set apart, and called to continue the ministry of Jesus: priest, prophet, and king.

We invite adults who are preparing to be baptized and the parents and godparents who wish to baptize a child to reflect on this important step.   Through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) and the preparation for parents and sponsors, we hope that people will take the time to reflect on how this sacrament will mark new life, how the Lord is calling them, and how they will respond.

First Holy Communion and Confirmation

First reception of the Eucharist--the first time a person shares at the Lord's table through the Eucharist--and Confirmation complete a person's initiation into the life of the Church.

We invite adults who are preparing to complete their initiation into the Church to reflect deeply on their commitment to Jesus and to his Church.  We spend time in R.C.I.A. helping them to come to a deeper appreciation of these sacraments and the life of the Christian community.

For more information about this process for adults, please contact Sr. Olivia.

Parents have more challenges facing them as they try to raise their children and to pass on a life of Christian values.  We offer sacramental preparation to parents and godparents or sponsors as their children continue to grow in Faith.  As the adult community committed to raising our children, we take time to reflect and to share.

For more information about this process for children's First Holy Communion or Confirmation, please contact Sr. Rose.

Marriage

For Catholics, marriage is a sacrament.  It involves the commitment of two persons to each other--as it does for all persons: Catholics, other Christians, other believers, and atheists.  But we also see marriage as a calling to follow Christ in a particular way. It is a concrete expression of how two people will live their lives in Christ.

Marriage and family life are not easy.  There are many challenges.  We invite people contemplating marriage to reflect upon this sacrament.   They also learn some specific tools for dealing with some challenges.
